The Visit by Nestles
A cadre of business owners representing 13 different middle eastern nations visited our shop early in 2015. This was especially exciting because Nestle's is among the largest global companies on the planet. We were contacted because they follow us on Twitter.
Third Thursdays at Village Square
The last time that we hosted a classic car event was the very first year we were in business. Nearly a year latter the Village Square not only allowed us to host this event but they had adopted it as their very own. By the end of the year #3rdThursdays had attracted nearly 500 people, cars, music and the biggest volume day we had ever seen at the shop.
Coffee Culture Magazine
Our online magazine Coffee Culture Magazine started to catch fire in 2015. Not only is this a major way that we get the word out about the coffee scene here in Las Vegas but Avery's Coffee is looked at as the valley leader in all things coffee based upon our reporting and updating on the Coffee Culture.
Back to School Drive
As an ongoing effort to connect the community to your local coffee shop, Avery's hosted the very first back to school drive. This was a true labor of love for us. But we couldn't do any of this on our own. We were able to enlist the help of 15 business owners, Relentless church and the folks who call Avery's Coffee their own neighborhood coffee roaster. We raised over 100 backpacks, filled with pens, paper, pencils and great stuff.
Las Vegas Coffee and Beer Festival
It has been a dream of ours to host a major event highlighting the coffee roasters here in Las Vegas. After spending nearly a year in the planning we were able to pull off the very first event of its kind. Our friends from the coffee roasting community and the beer brewing community joined us along with 40 vendors, music, a bounce house and of course a devoted cast of coffeeophiles.
It was a great idea, awesome selection, excellent staffing but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Avery's AfterDark Dinner menu had a short run but we had a great time. Not only were we able to stretch our legs a bit wit the new menu, staffing and such but we were able to put together a workable menu that just might be workable down the line. After 6 weeks of trying to get the menu to catch on we were forced to call it quits.
